About Alison Young, DPM

A native of Arkansas and Missouri, Dr. Young received a BA in American Studies from Carleton College in Minnesota. She earned her MA from the University of Mississippi and her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL. Prior to pursuing a career in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, she worked for several years in the healthcare IT industry.

Following her graduation from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 2016, Dr. Young completed a three-year surgical residency at AMITA Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago. During her residency, she treated a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions with a special interest in sports injuries and diabetic foot infections. 

Dr. Young is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. She is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, and American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. She is a lifelong runner and previously competed at the collegiate level. She now lives in Wicker Park with her husband and two children.

Dr. Young currently works with Dr. John Wray, DPM at Podiatry Center, S.C. Located in downtown Chicago, the office is easily accessible via public transportation, car, or foot.
